Maresme, Costa Brava and Costa Daurada are the 3 summer hotspots in Barcelona. A common getaway for those who flee from Barceloneta, from the Catalan capital you can travel by public transport to several beaches located in these tourist centers of Catalonia. You can do it in Rodalies and we explain how.
This summer Renfe has reinforced the service of two key lines of Rodalies to facilitate access to the bathing areas from Barcelona and other nearby towns. These are the lines R1 and R2 Sud that connect Barcelona with the Catalan coast, and that until September 28, during weekends and holidays will have a reinforced schedule with frequencies every 10 minutes.
Line R1: from Barcelona to the Costa Brava
Line R1 connects from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat to Maçanet-Massanes, passing through the main beaches of Maresme, such as Calella, Sant Pol de Mar and Canet de Mar. During the summer, new trains are added that allow trips every 10 minutes between Barcelona-Plaça Catalunya and Mataró during morning and afternoon rush hours.
If you get off at Blanes, you will arrive at the “Portal de la Costa Brava”, where some of the best beaches in Catalonia begin.
