The Fiestas de la Mercè will be the perfect excuse to come to Pla de Palau, where a new edition of Born Street Food will be held with the participation of 18 restaurants and local stores.
From Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September, this central square will host the 18th edition of the Born gastronomic festival from 12 to 11 pm each day. This festival joins Terra i Gust, which will allow you to taste tapas in 14 restaurants for 5 euros.

18 restaurants and gourmet stores from the 29 establishments that are part of the Born Districte Gastronòmic seal will participate in the event: 7 Portes, 1881 per Sagardi, Bodega Vidrios y Cristales, Bronzo Bar e Cucina, Confraria de Pescadors de Barcelona, Euskal Etxea Taberna, Golfo de Bizkaia, Ikoya, Jon Cake, La Teca de Vila Viniteca, La Vinya del Senyor, Mercat de Santa Caterina, Oaxaca Cuina Mexicana, Paninaro Pane, Salumi & Co, SAGARDI Cuiners Bascos, SAGÀS Pagesos i Cuiners, Restaurant Cadaqués and Vila Viniteca are the confirmed venues.
Organized by the Barcelona Born Gourmet Association, and under the seal Born Districte Gastronòmic, you can taste dishes such as “Arròs brut” of cuttlefish from Cadaqués, “Fideus a la cassola”; from 1881 or the potato omelette with chorizo Bodega Vidrios y Cristales.
Euskal Etxea will serve its Rabas de calamar with Espelette bell pepper mayonnaise and Golfo de Bizkaia its“txistorra a la parrilla sobre coca de Mossèn de Folgueroles”.

Free wine tastings at Born Street Food

In addition, the daily tastings of wines and cheeses from Vila Viniteca and La Viña del Señor, selected by Quim Vila and sommelier Jordi Bausa, will take place every day at 12:30 pm. Reservations can be made free of charge (with minimum consumption) through the Born Districte Gastronòmic website. Places will be limited to 20 people per session.
The first tasting, “Priorat vs Montsant”, will present six wines from these two regions of Catalonia. The second tasting will be based on Atlantic wines, from locations such as the Canary Islands, Galicia and Portugal, and the last tasting will feature Mediterranean wines from Catalonia, Levante, the Balearic Islands and Italy.
