Today, September 14, the Trambesòs resumes the regular route of Line T4, which connects downtown Barcelona with the city’s coast. Service is once again operating in full between Verdaguer and Sant Adrià de Besòs, passing through Plaça de les Glòries, following the track widening and network improvement works, as well as urban development on Gran Via.
Following infrastructure work at Glòries and the surrounding area, the former single track has been replaced by a new platform with a segregated double track, which will significantly increase the number of tram trips and improve traffic flow in the area.
Lines T5 and T6 are also resuming service between Glòries and Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica, although the service interruption between Glòries and Sant Martí de Provençals remains in effect for the time being, pending the completion of the next phases of construction.
This final phase, which will affect some 240,000 passengers, will continue through spring 2027, when the work—which has a budget of 32.54 million euros—is scheduled to be fully completed.
The Diagonal Regains Its Bus Lane and Bike Lane
The reopening is not limited to the tram. The roadway on the mountain side of Diagonal Avenue , between Llacuna and Badajoz streets, is once again open to both motor vehicles and cyclists, with the bike lane now operational in both directions.
This change has a direct impact on several bus lines: lines 7 and N7 resume their usual route toward Llobregat, and lines H12 and N2 no longer follow the temporary route through Bilbao, Tànger, and Badajoz streets, returning instead to Diagonal.
