The Mercè Festival never disappoints, and that’s mainly because the entire city comes together to fill the streets with color, music, food, and, above all, joy. In the Year of Gaudí, following the crowning of the Tower of Jesus Christ and the visit of Pope Leo XIV, the Sagrada Família also wanted to celebrate Barcelona’s biggest festivities—and what better way to do so than with 20,000 free tickets to see the monument.
The free tours will take place on September 24, 25, 26, and 27, and to win one of the tickets, a drawing will be held among everyone who registers on the Sagrada Familia website. Registration for the drawing is open from today through next Sunday, September 20.
The ticket includes a tour of the Nativity Facade, the interior of the Basilica, the Liturgical Route, the museum, and the Passion Facade. In addition, during this open house, visitors can enjoy the exhibition “The Power of a Shared Dream,” a photographic journey through the key moments in the temple’s construction.
Residents who haven’t visited the Sagrada Família recently will also be able to view three of the sculptures that will form part of the exterior of the Chapel of the Assumption: the figures of Saint Joseph Oriol and Saint Roch, as well as one of the four angels that will crown the dome and hold up the Virgin Mary’s blue mantle.
