A week doesn’t have to last seven days, especially if that means an event as special as Catalan Book Week can be extended for a few more days. The great celebration of Catalan literature returns to Passeig Lluís Companys from September 18 to 27, coinciding with the Mercè Festival.
For this edition—the 44th—a program featuring more than 350 activities has been organized at the designated venues, including presentations, book signings, children’s workshops, concerts, recitals, awards ceremonies, and literary tours throughout Barcelona and other municipalities.
During the ten days of the event, 98 bookstore booths will be set up , and 282 publishing houses will be in attendance. In addition, this year four different stages have been set up with programming tailored to different audiences—youth, adults, and families—and there will be a space for workshops and storytelling.
La Setmana aims to remain a leading hub for Catalan and Barcelona culture, fostering a more cultured, freer, and more united community centered on reading and knowledge.
La Setmana 2026: Schedule and Program
