Can Pizza, located at Ronda de la Universitat, 20, next to Plaça Universitat, was born from a simple idea that completely transforms the group dining experience: ensuring that no one has to miss out because they have celiac disease. Under the name “Gluten & No Gluten,” all pizzas can be ordered with traditional or gluten-free crust, while the appetizers and desserts are naturally gluten-free for the entire table, prepared in a cross-contamination-free kitchen and certified by the Associació de Celíacs de Catalunya. Here, no one orders from a separate menu or settles for less: those with celiac disease enjoy exactly the same experience as everyone else. Reserve your table here.
Through Fever, Can Pizza Universitat offers the “Celia & Co” setmenus, available as individual or two-person options, both in gluten-free and non-gluten-free versions. The individual set menu includes one pizza and one drink, while the two-person set menu consists of a choice of appetizer, two pizzas, one dessert, and two drinks, with prices starting at 16 euros.

Can Pizza Universitat · Gluten & NO GLUTEN
The same menu, gluten-free and all

Choosing gluten-free at Can Pizza Universitat doesn’t mean changing the way things are done. The dough retains the same essence: artisanal preparation and Italian flours, made as always every day right here in the restaurant. The only thing that’s changed is that now neither those with gluten intolerance nor those with celiac disease will have to miss out on Can Pizza’s unique offering, thanks to the gluten-free version of every pizza and the endorsement of the Catalan Celiac Association, which provides the necessary assurance that there is no cross-contamination.
No simplified recipes or industrial shortcuts: it’s the classic pizza, made the same way, with the same flavor, so everyone can enjoy it.
A restaurant that already knew its way around pizza

Can Pizza isn’t a brand starting from scratch. It was founded in 2014 in El Prat and now has nine restaurants in Barcelona and the surrounding area, as well as two in Madrid and one in Ibiza. Its dough, with a unique style that blends Neapolitan and Roman traditions, ferments for 72 hours using Italian flours to make it lighter and easier to digest—an effort that earned them the award for Best Pizza in Spain in 2023 with the “Pulp Edition,” a combination of sobrasada, octopus, Kalamata olives, garlic oil, and fior di latte that has already become a house classic. In 2021, the award went to the Jerry Tomato.
That means classics like the Margherita, Pepperoni, and Capricciosa share the menu with bolder creations like the Mortazza or the vegan Vaya Vegan—all available in gluten-free versions that are just as hearty as the originals.
The menu at Can Pizza Universitat offers more than just pizza
Although pizza takes center stage, Can Pizza Universitat’s menu doesn’t stop there. The sharing platters include appetizers such as fried calamari, lasagna, chicken fingers, caprese salad, zucchini carpaccio, steak tartare, and focaccia— all available in gluten-free versions. And to round out the meal, tiramisu, cheesecake, or pineapple panna cotta, all prepared with the same guarantee of cross-contamination-free preparation .
