While housing prices continue to increase at an annual rate of 5% in Catalonia, in Barcelona there are 2 municipalities where prices have fallen in the last 12 months by more than 15%.
According to the latest Fotocasa report sant Joan de Vilatorrada and Montornès del Vallès are the two municipalities in Barcelona that have experienced significant drops in housing prices, with decreases of 21.2% and 15.4% with respect to 2023. These are 2 of the 10 municipalities with the largest price decreases, along with others in Jaén, Córdoba, A Coruña and Alicante.
The same report points out that Puigcerdà is the Catalan municipality where the price of second-hand housing has increased the most in 2024: up 47.2%.
In general terms, the report indicates that in 88% of the 50 provinces analyzed, the year-on-year price of housing increased in July. Thirteen provinces exceed 10%, two of them in Catalonia, and none of them in Barcelona. Girona and Tarragona experienced an increase of 11.8%, above the rate in Barcelona.
