About ten times the average salary of a person from Barcelona. This is how much it costs to live for a month of the America’s Cup summer in the apartment that has been put up for rent in Barceloneta and which is advertised with the international sailing competition as the main attraction.
Thus, for 25,000 euros (the fifth most expensive apartment in Barcelona on a famous real estate portal), one can rent an apartment for at the end of Pg. Joan de Borbó, just in front of the tower of Sant Miquel del Telefèric at the foot of which are some of the facilities of the America’s Cup.
An apartment in the fishermen’s quarter with high Zone prices
So begins the advertisement of the apartment we mentioned that is, as we said, the fifth most expensive in Barcelona right now, after several villas in the upper Zone and a luxury apartment in the Gothic Quarter of more than 200 square meters.
The apartment ad begins with the text “Rent for the America’s Cup Barcelona!” next to a picture of the window from which you can see the harbor and the yachts where some of the delegations of the sailing championship are working. The apartment has 140m2 and three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Also, as the ad says, “this apartment offers a 360-degree view of Barcelona, Port Vell, Barceloneta beach and the famous Montjuic”, with 10 windows.
The apartment, as mentioned, is rented for 25,000 euros per month and is only available for monthly rentals of between 32 days and 2 months, so it is clearly a rental intended for tourist use and, therefore, can circumvent the housing price cap that the City Council approved a few months ago.
So, if you are interested, and you have the money, you know where you can spend the summer. Just make sure that the intention is to relax: the advertisement makes it very clear that parties are not allowed in the apartment.
