Barcelona has a form of entertainment never seen before in the city (and in the world): Alfa5, a center dedicated to XR Sports. In this center fans of new sensations can enjoy up to nine experiences, regardless of age or physical condition. You can get your tickets here.
With its more than 2,000 m2, Alfa5 becomes one of the largest XR Sports centers in the world. XR Sports are a new concept of entertainment and that, in a few words, can be defined as sports expanded with a digital layer, that is, experiences that surpass all kinds of limits.
Alfa5 in 5 experiences with the FLIPASS card
At Alfa5 you come to play at the Flipodromo. When you arrive at the venue you will be given a card, the FLIPASS, which allows you to select 5 experiences from the 9 existing ones and configure your own adventure. It works as follows:
- Choose a physical player vs. player activity based on goals: Flatball or Goal It!
- Choose a team-based player-versus-player activity: Glow Mission or Cyber Hunt
- Choose a visually immersive VR activity: eVRest or Soft Drop
- Choose between two single player activities based on getting the highest score: Neon Targets, Racket NX or Flash.
Didn’t get enough of the 5 experiences? Then you can get the extra lives at the center. With them you will be able to repeat that experience you liked so much or one of the ones you didn’t try with the FLIPASS. You will be able to acquire extra lives in the same center the day you enter.
In addition to the FLIPASS option, Alfa5 has a driving simulator with 360º movement, unique in Europe, in which you can play as many games as you wish.

Sport and technology in nine experiences for all ages
Alfa5 has nine experiences focused on fun and also on competition (if you feel like it). The combination of sport and technology of the XR Sports makes them suitable for all types of physical conditions, unlike traditional sports. That’s why their motto is “make the impossible possible”, as anyone will be able to enjoy their exciting activities.
The jewel in the crown is the XR Arena, Alfa5’s largest room, where audiovisual and interactive technology converge so that, in teams, we can achieve the highest score. Flatball is the game that currently occupies the space, conceived and designed from scratch for Alfa5 and that can be enjoyed here exclusively.
Being in a city like Barcelona, we could not miss a space dedicated to the king of sports. XR Ball combines soccer and gaming, with an activity in which we will have to shoot between four interactive walls. It is ideal for both soccer fans and for those who simply enjoy playing with or against other participants.
Other rooms include a fronton with a digital overlay, an interactive climbing wall for all ages, a sophisticated Metaverse with an addictive laser tag style game...If you want to know more, you should come and discover it.
An iconic space in Barcelona
The name Alfa5 is not random: it has been chosen because this experience is integrated into the old gym that had the same name a few decades ago, at that time the largest sports center in Catalonia and a reference for the residents of Poblenou and Barcelona in general.
To pay tribute to this iconic space, Alfa5 also has an area called History Hall, which reviews the entire history of the gym until today, where we could say that it has become the evolution of the classic gyms.
In addition, the new generations also have their tribute space in Alfa5: the center has a spacious room with screens where you can play different indie games made in Barcelona. This room, together with the vending machines, is the perfect respite between games, and in some games you will perform a considerable physical activity, like in the old days of the gym.
And if September is still as hot as usual, don’t worry. Alfa5 has air conditioning throughout the facilities and a rest area with cold drink machines and snacks, so that you can recharge your batteries between games.
