No need to travel to Iceland or get lost in the Norwegian fjords to see an aurora borealis: this October, the sky of Spain will again be tinged with green and purple.
It is not the first time that this strange phenomenon can be seen in the country and, as on the last occasion, there is a possibility that Catalonia will also see them again, so we explain all the details so you do not miss them.
When will we be able to see the northern lights in Catalonia?
According to astronomers, the phenomenon will be visible between October 20 and 29, 2025, and although it will be somewhat less intense than last year, it will still be one of the most impressive natural spectacles that can be seen from our country.
Where will you be able to see it?

Although they are usually seen only in regions close to the North Pole, such as Norway, Iceland or Lapland, in recent years there have been exceptional episodes that have allowed to enjoy them also from points of Spain.
How to see them?
In these areas, weather conditions and light pollution will play a key role. It is best to move away from cities and look for dark skies, without artificial lights, to increase the chances of seeing it.
