TMB workers have called a strike on Barcelona’s bus service today, September 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these seven hours, there will be a minimum service of 20% until 4:00 p.m. and 40% from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This work stoppage affects all bus routes in the city.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona staff have called this strike after failing to reach an agreement with the company to establish a new labor agreement during the more than 20 meetings held to date.
The workers are demanding a reduction in the workweek to 35 hours, a change in their schedule, and improved break times. According to Betevé, both parties are scheduled to meet at 12:30 p.m. today to find a solution.
This strike will also affect the Barcelona Bus Turístic, which will not be available at all today. This suspension of service affects both routes of this service: the red route and the blue route. The metro is operating on its usual schedule and with its usual frequency, making it the best alternative for getting around Barcelona today.
