There are days in Les Corts when the asphalt seems to beat to a different rhythm.When the ball is about to roll at the Camp Nou, the surrounding streets turn into a maze of road closures and detours that inevitably disrupt the neighborhood’s daily rhythm. To restore a bit of that longed-for normalcy to residents and alleviate traffic congestion, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) will launch a new special bus service.
Coinciding with the start of the season, this circular route will operate exclusively on days when FC Barcelona plays at Spotify Camp Nou. The purpose of this bus is simple but vital for the neighborhood: to bypass the barriers set up by security and traffic operations, connecting the areas most affected by crowds and ensuring that district residents can continue to get around and connect with regular public transit lines.
A six-kilometer loop through Les Corts
To ensure that getting around isn’t a headache, the bus will follow a circular route of approximately six kilometers. The starting point will be located near the Ernest Lluch transit hub, right on Camí de Torre Melina Street.
From there, the bus will travel along Collblanc Road, head up Cardenal Reig Street and Sant Ramon Nonat Avenue, and then briefly return to Collblanc Road. It will continue along Avenida de Madrid, Gran Via de Carles III, and Diagonal, then head down Avenida del Doctor Marañón and Avenida de Xile until completing the loop back at Camí de Torre Melina. This route is designed to serve the most strategic bus stops that are often cut off during sporting events.
The Timeline: Before, During, and After the Final Whistle
The service won’t just run while the ball is in play. The bus will start up two hours before each match begins, continue circulating nonstop during the game, and won’t stop running until an hour and a half after it ends.
The idea is that residents won’t have to wait too long: buses will run about every 15 minutes, and it will take approximately 32 minutes to complete the entire loop. However, TMB notes that these times could be slightly longer depending on traffic conditions in the area, especially during peak hours when the streets are most crowded.
To ensure no one gets lost looking for their stop, the bus shelters along the route will feature specific directions—both on fixed signs and dynamic displays—to help guide passengers.
