The series of candlelight concerts, Candlelight, expands its cultural offerings in Barcelona, bringing back to the city a format that magnifies the essence of these magical evenings that have captivated the world: Candlelight Orchestra. A big show that has chosen to pay tribute to nothing more and nothing less than the best film music of Hans Zimmer.
If normally Candlelight concerts are led by a string quartet or a pianist, this time it will be an orchestra playing in unison the soundtrack of some of your favorite action, adventure and mystery movies. A unique musical experience among thousands of candles that next month will illuminate one of the most iconic locations in Barcelona: the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Candlelight Orchestra: A Tribute to Hans Zimmer
Sail the Caribbean Sea or walk through the gladiatorial arena of the Coliseum in a movie night led by conductor Xavier Puig and the 42 musicians of the Orquesta Simfònica del Vallès. Under the hypnotic glow of thousands of candles, tribute will be paid to one of the great masters of film music, winner of two Oscars for best soundtrack. An ideal concert to let yourself be carried away by epic, exciting and dramatic melodies, in a musical space of reference.
An icon of Barcelona, the Palau de la Música Catalana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 for being an architectural jewel of Catalan modernism. An imposing concert hall, designed by architect Lluis Domènech i Muntaner, where sculpture, mosaic, stained glass and wrought iron are combined, and where music legends such as Igor Stravinski and Richard Strausshave performed.
Candlelight has already changed the way of living the music of thousands of spectators in other cities around the world such as New York, Seoul or Paris. A unique musical experience with which you can enjoy some of the most famous soundtracks in history, in a big way and in an atmosphere -created by thousands and thousands of candles- unrepeatable.
