With the turning on of the lights, the city of Barcelona has officially welcomed the Christmas season, and with it, the most icy (and fun) plans on the agenda return. If you are one of those who change the nougat for skates, you’re in luck. The largest ice rink you’ll find near Barcelona, with its imposing 525 square meters of surface, has confirmed its opening.
The cold, or lack of it, will not be an excuse. The facility, which is consolidating itself as one of the must-see stops of the metropolitan Christmas, is completely covered by a giant tent, allowing you to enjoy skating even if the weather gets playful.
Where is the ice rink
The large installation is located in Castelldefels, less than half an hour by car or public transport from the center of Barcelona, specifically in Plaça Teresa Claramunt. Measuring 35 meters long and 15 meters wide, its 525 m² make it the largest of its kind in the area.
It will open its doors to the public on November 28 and will remain active until January 7, offering almost six weeks of fun on ice. For those who want to get started or polish their technique, the organization has announced that there will be group skating classes, designed for both beginners and intermediate skaters.
Prices and schedules
As for the pocket, the good news is that the price remains affordable. The entrance fee is 7 euros for a 30-minute session, a cost that already includes the skate rental, ensuring a complete experience and no last minute surprises.
The schedule will be extensive so that no one will be left wanting:
-
Monday to Friday: it will be open from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
-
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: extend the fun with a double shift, from 10:00 to 14:00 hours and from 16:00 to 22:00 hours.
In addition to skating, the rink not only offers ice. The facility maintains its commitment to sustainability, respecting European energy efficiency standards. As if that were not enough, there will also be a bar and food service to replenish energy after sliding.
If you want more options, remember that Barcelona capital also has other ice proposals for these dates, such as the one hosted by the Moll de la Fusta or the one in Tibidabo. However, if you are looking for the biggest and you fancy a quick getaway near the city, Castelldefels is undoubtedly a strong candidate.
