The Swiss Alps are a long way from Barcelona for a getaway and, although we have just discovered that you can get everywhere by bus, now there is an option that allows us a small getaway to a wooden cabin in the mountains without leaving Barcelona.
This is the traditional Chalet El Palace, a pop-up winter proposal of the hotel that fills up, consisting of a restaurant and a winter open-air cinema set in the snow of the Alps but located in the central pergola of the Rooftop Garden, which will be transformed into a cozy alpine hut.
On one side is the Chalet El Palace, which will open its doors in the Rooftop Garden offering a menu full of traditional dishes such as fondue and tartiflette. The menu, at 75€, is a tasting of Swiss delicatessens, and there is also an à la carte menu to choose from.
On the other hand, there is the Winter Cinema, an open-air winter cinema with just four booths sheltered from the cold on the hotel terrace, overlooking the Sagrada Familia, where you can comfortably watch, covered with a blanket, classics such as “Casablanca” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, accompanied by sweet popcorn, hot chocolate and hot drinks. The price of the session is 65€, the program will change after January 16, and can be consulted at the hotel.
