Barcelona prepares for a gastronomic journey to the heart of China. This weekend, the Port Forum will host the first edition of the China Gastronomic Festival, an event that will bring together food, tradition and culture in the same space.
Under the slogan “gastronomy as a link, culture as a bridge and cooperation as a foundation”, the festival aims to showcase the richness of one of the most influential cuisines in the world, offering a complete experience that goes far beyond the palate.
More than 20 Chinese food stalls
During Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, the venue will be filled with aromas and flavors from different regions of China. There will be more than 20 food stalls with traditional recipes, from hand-pulled noodles to dumplings, baos or Sichuan-style kebabs, in addition to a dozen stands dedicated to Chinese culture and crafts.
Visitors will be able to attend live culinary workshops, such as handmade noodle making, traditional and contemporary dance exhibitions, wellness workshops and a space dedicated to hanfu, the traditional Chinese clothing that is currently experiencing a resurgence among the new generations.
A program full of activities
The festival will begin on Saturday, October 11 with a closed-door opening ceremony at 10 am. At 11 a.m., the gastronomic stalls will open and between 12 noon and 5:30 p.m. there will be performances and cultural demonstrations.
On Sunday 12, access to the public will be from 11 am to 5 pm, with performances from noon to 3:30 pm. Admission is free and open to everyone, ideal to enjoy with family or friends.
