Imagine strolling through Sants on a sunny day and discovering a little corner that transports you straight to Sardinia. El Chiringuito de La Pizzetta, located in front of the Plaça de la Farga park, is one of the new pizzeria addresses in the Catalan capital.
Here, portions of pizzettas folded in half await you, a typical delicacy of the Italian island that you can try for only 2.50 euros.
This is the Chiringuito de La Pizzeta
El Chiringuito de La Pizzetta prepares this Mediterranean version of the Italian patriotic dish daily with homemade dough.
The owners, originally from Sardinia, have brought this tradition to Barcelona, which is characterized by a thin, crispy dough that is folded in half to be enjoyed in bites, sandwich style. Nothing to do with the thin, thick-edged dough typical of Naples.
Although the variety is wide, among the most popular choices are the spicy chorizo pizzetta, or the fresh vegetable pizzetta. They are all pizza al taglio, cut to order.
In addition to the pizzettas, this place has imported beers from Sardinia, with the popular Sardinian brand Ichnusa.
El Chiringuito de La Pizzeta is located at Plaça de la Farga, 8, in the Sants-Montjuïc district. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 6pm to 11pm.
