Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona will once again have a 15-meter high fir tree on loan to the city from Mercabarna this Christmas 2025. As happened in 2024, the square will be decorated with this specimen donated by the largest wholesale market in the city.
The ornamentation of the tree will be the responsibility of Michaela Shmidt, a floral designer with several stops of floral complements in Mercabarna.
Her design will combine the traditional Christmas palette with a modern touch, where red, gold and silver metallic tones will predominate, in addition to earth, white and orange colors.
The fir tree comes from a natural and sustainable cultivation of Can Jover, in Sant Hilari Sacalm (Girona). It will have lights, ribbons and balls typical of Christmas.
The best time to see it will be at nightfall, from the official lighting scheduled for November 21 until January 5.
