Barcelona is already in Christmas mode, and that means that the spirit of lights, nougat and gifts begins to sneak into the most unexpected corners of the city. If you have already exhausted last year’s stock of decorations or simply want to give a touch of natural greenery to your living room, you are in luck: a Christmas oasis is hidden, no more and no less, in the inner courtyard of one of the most traditional bakeries in the area.
The initiative comes from the hand of Can Palmera, a flower shop with which the neighborhood is already familiar, which has decided to team up with Forno Bomba to celebrate the first edition of its Christmas market. From December 12 to 14, the backyard of Forno Bomba, located at 24 Vallespir Street, will be transformed into a festive shelter with free admission for anyone who wants to catch the good vibes of these dates and, incidentally, lend a hand to small businesses.
What will you find there? Well, the essentials to make your home smell like pure winter. The florist has selected an endless number of items to set up a Christmas corner: natural fir trees, wreaths made with real branches, winter bouquets, and all those details that are always forgotten, such as moss, pine cones and the classic red ponsetias.
Christmas is not only flowers: you can also learn how to make wreaths.
But it’s not just about Christmas shopping. For those of you who like to put your hands in the dough and show that you have a gift for craftsmanship, Can Palmera has also announced a Christmas wreath workshop. This activity will take place next Tuesday, December 16 and will have the collaboration of the florist Haydée de Barciela.
If you want to secure a place, the organization invites you to send a direct message to the florist’s Instagram account, @canpalmera, and start planning your most creative afternoon.
So now you know, if this weekend you are looking for the ultimate plan to get your home ready, or if you just want to have a coffee with that unmistakable aroma of freshly baked bread and natural fir, this is the mandatory stop.
