It was the paradise of comics in Barcelona and one of the largest stores in the city dedicated to this genre. Batman, The Joker or Superman decorated its shelves with dozens of copies of DC Comics. But from now on these issues will have to get them elsewhere, because the ECC store in Gràcia has just closed its doors.
This store located at number 30 Bonavista street opened its doors just 2 years ago with more than 400m2 dedicated to comics.
Now it has been forced to close due to the bankruptcy situation of the company that has owned the business since the beginning of 2025. The Catalan ECC Ediciones filed for bankruptcy last January and is now in the process of liquidation and dissolution.
This publishing house was in charge of distributing in Spain the catalog of DC Comics, among others, one of the largest comic book houses in the world and owner of the rights to Batman or Superman.
As reported by Time Out, the remaining ECC catalog to be sold will now be moved to another store they still have in the city, in Arenas de Barcelona.
