Esclat will land in Barcelona. The hypermarket line of the Catalan distribution group Bon Preu will open before the end of the year a 2,000 square meters store in the district of Sants, specifically in Riera Blanca street, according to the newspaper Expansión in its digital edition.
This will be the group’s first large-format supermarket in the city of Barcelona. Although the company already has a solid presence in the Catalan capital through its Bonpreu stores, this will be the first time that its hypermarket model, with a wider range of products and greater extension, operates in the city of Barcelona.
What is Esclat and what products will it sell in Barcelona?
The new store, which is expected to open its doors to the public during the next Christmas season in the Sants district, will be part of the Themis complex. It will be part of the Themis Riera complex, a new residential and residential building developed by the real estate company Culmia.
The premises where the new Bon Preu hypermarket will be located have a total area of 7,973 square meters.
The group works with 3 supermarket brands: Bonpreu, small (bonpreu ràpid) or medium-sized supermarkets; Esclat, large hypermarkets with parking and a bazaar section, among others, and Esclatoil gas stations, normally located next to Esclat hypermarkets.
In this case, according to Expansión, the center will have a parking lot and will have additional sections such as a bazaar, a drugstore, a children’s play area and an area dedicated to pet products.
