Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will start next January a program of free guided visits to two of its centers: the Space of the metric track of Martorell and the Exhibition Space of the Rubí’s Coaches.
The initiative, which will run until July, will allow the public to see the operator’s collection of historic vehicles at first hand. Although it will only take place once a month.
The open days will be held in the morning, in three 40-minute visits (from 10:00 to 11:00, from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 12:00 to 13:00).
How to visit this exhibition of historic trains

Access will be free, but it will be essential to make a reservation in advance through the Heritage section of the Ferrocarrils website.
The Metric Track Space, located next to Martorell Central station, preserves the history of the Llobregat-Anoia line. In its facilities are exposed more than twenty pieces, such as locomotives, passenger cars and freight wagons that have served on this line until today.
Visits to this center are scheduled for January 17, February 15, March 14, April 25, May 24, June 20 and July 11.
The Exhibition Space of the Rubí Train Depot, located in the old premises of the Rubí Centre station (Rambleta de Joan Miró, 6), will have a graphic exhibition on the centenary of the arrival of the electric train to Vallès, as well as its own collection of historic vehicles.
The opening calendar for this space will be on January 25, February 22, April 19, May 16, June 14 and July 18.
This exhibition is part of the Historical Heritage Strategy approved by FGC in 2021, which also includes the recovery of historical circulations such as the Granota Train -operational on the first Sundays of the month between May and December- and the digitization of more than 2.5 million documents from the historical archive.
These centers are in addition to the company’s other preservation centers in La Pobla de Segur, Ribes de Freser, Monistrol and La Pobla de Lillet.
