The 100 free concerts of La Mercè 2025: the whole program (Pussy Riot, Rigoberta Bandini, Mushkaa…)

From September 23 to 28, Barcelona will be filled with music everywhere. La Mercè 2025 brings more than 100 free concerts spread throughout the city thanks to the joint programming of Música Mercè and BAM – Barcelona Acció Musical. Artists from more than 20 countries (and from home) will take 16 outdoor stages in 14 urban spaces ranging from the Teatre Grec to the Bogatell beach.

This year, Manchester is the guest city. And it is with all the letters: powerful proposals such as Children of Zeus, Porij, Space Afrika or a special collaboration between Queralt Lahoz and Werkha born from an artistic residency at Fabra i Coats are coming from there. It will also be the first international co-production in the history of the Mercè music program. And it will not be the only one.

The program combines roots music and urban sounds, emerging proposals and established names. And above all, it is committed to diversity, both in styles and in genres and origins.

Our favorite concerts

This 2025, Música Mercè presents its most feminine program to date, directed by Gisela Sais. On stage will be some of the voices that are transforming the Catalan scene: Maria Arnal, Rigoberta Bandini, Tarta Relena, Mushka, Lia Kali or Queralt Lahoz, in a lineup that mixes pop, electronic, urban music and reinterpreted tradition.

Among the highlights are the special production Al corazón de Marta Valdés ( with Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Martirio, Mayte Martín…), a tribute to El Pescadilla and the Catalan rumba in the Cathedral, or a night of contemporary habaneras in the Plaça de Sant Jaume.

BAM, new voices and sounds of the world

The BAM bids farewell to the five-year cycle under the artistic direction of the cooperative L’Afluent with a program that looks to the present without neglecting the roots. Lido Pimienta, Villano Antillano, Kiddy Smile, Ferran Palau, Anna Andreu and new voices such as Ven’nus, Ultralone or Ani in the Hall will perform.

One of the great novelties of this edition is the unprecedented exchange of stages between BAM and Música Mercè: on Tuesday 23rd, Tarta Relena and Space Afrika will perform at the Teatre Grec, while Pussy Riot and Ladilla Rusa will set fire (musically) to the Plaça de Catalunya.

Beyond the center: live culture, gastronomy and music of proximity

The party also comes to Sant Andreu, where the BAM – Acció Cultura Viva presents 12 proposals selected from more than 600 applications. Here, music is born from community work and commitment to social transformation, with projects such as Vozes or the Xamfrà center.

And as has become a tradition, music is mixed with gastronomy in Terra i Gust, the space in Parc de la Ciutadella dedicated to sustainable cuisine. Here there will be concerts designed for all audiences while eating delicious food: Son de Madera, Kokoshca, Juan Andrés Ospina + L’Orquestra Efímera, Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet or Sehar Gul Khan will liven up the Paseo de los Til-lers between vermouth, dinners and dances under the trees.
