This Sunday, Barcelona will be filled with exactly that atmosphere as it watches the World Cup final and cheers on Spain in its final push for a second World Cup title.
To experience the moment as a community, a massive 8×5-meter giant screen will be set up in the Les Corts neighborhood, specifically on Martí i Franquès Street, near Baldiri i Reixac. The event on July 19 is completely free and open to the public; it will not be limited to just the duration of the match, but is intended as a major celebration for the whole family that will begin well before kickoff.
An afternoon of pre-game festivities, music, and games
The tension of the match is best shared with others, so the day will kick off well before the ball starts rolling. The schedule for Sunday afternoon is as follows:
- 7:00 p.m.: Official start of the family celebration. There will be music to get the party started and games projected onto the giant screen itself.
- 8:30 p.m.: The pre-game show begins, with a live feed to follow the teams’ final preparations.
- 9:00 p.m.: The moment of truth. The opening whistle blows, and the live broadcast of the match begins.
Being able to enjoy the final peacefully on the street is the top priority. Although the event is free to attend, security checks will be in place at the designated access points, located on both Menéndez i Pelayo Street and Martí i Franquès Street itself.
In addition, to ensure that the area remains a safe and family-friendly environment at all times, the organizers have confirmed that alcoholic beverages and glass bottles will not be allowed on the premises. An afternoon designed exclusively for sharing the nerves, the excitement, and, hopefully, a historic moment.
