What a huge party is brewing in Montmeló! A unique festival for car enthusiasts is coming to town: Volkswagen is celebrating half a century of the GTI with a historic event and over 10 hours of entertainment for all ages.
And since fifty years of history don’t come around every day, Volkswagen has prepared a day packed with activities to experience the GTI spirit firsthand. Because the Golf GTI is, without a doubt, a true automotive icon.

But it won’t just be a car show and a tribute to those who’ve been driving a GTI for 50 years. Thousands of fans from all over Europe will gather here for an event featuring test drives, exhibitions, and surprises for the whole family. Not to mention the presence of all eight generations of the Golf GTI together: one of the major highlights of this gathering.

The Big Family Photo
Can you imagine taking home the largest GTI family photo ever taken? It will take place on the circuit’s straight, where you’ll enjoy a unique parade and a full lap of the circuit with all the GTI vehicles.
Show off your GTI side
Get a souvenir photo! You and the GTI are one-of-a-kind, and the photographers know it: keep an eye out because they’ll be looking for you to pose for them.
Track Driving
With your Drive GTI and VIP Golf GTI tickets, you’ll be able to drive a GTI on the track accompanied by instructors: a chance to experience the performance of these Golfs firsthand. You’ll get to do three laps of the circuit with the team of professionals from the Volkswagen Driving Experience driving school. A great plan and a real adrenaline rush!
A unique exhibition: “
” The exhibition highlights how the GTI has become a collector’s item, surrounded by all the objects and references that will take us on a journey through the five decades of this icon’s history. A journey through the 8 generations of the Golf: from the first to the last, surrounded by all the cultural elements they coexisted with, and a final surprise that will take us into the future of the GTI.
But there’s more: leisure areas and activities as varied as a mural painting session or Scalextric—a must-have—or simulators to try and set the best lap time.
You can also stop by the official store, packed with limited-edition GTI merchandise available only during this event; or round out the festive experience in the food truck area: because you can’t leave without trying Volkswagen’s authentic and delicious currywurst sausages.
In addition, against this backdrop of excitement and fun, the new ID Polo GTI—the first GTI with a 100% electric motor— will be unveiled for the first time in Spain . Everything you need to enjoy the brand’s sporty DNA like never before.
