
The DANA caused this October 30 floods never seen in Valencia and, so far, a hundred dead that make the effects of the storm in one of the worst tragedies that the community has experienced in its history.
The images are terrifying and it is hard to live in the community next door and see them with folded hands.
Therefore, we tell you some initiatives that have been launched to help those affected by the floods of the DANA in Valencia.

The needs change depending on the area and the moment, but we leave you everything you need about the products that are necessary.

Donations
There are several entities that have opened donation lines to help those affected.
Those listed here are not the only ones. City councils, non-profit organizations and companies have launched donation campaigns to collect funds for those affected by the disaster. Find out which ones are near you.
Red Cross
The Spanish Red Cross has set up several channels to receive donations: its official website, a free phone line (900104971), Bizum (33512) and an SMS service (send “AYUDA” to 38092) that donates 6 euros. These donations will serve its operations, as the organization is actively involved in rescue operations, managing shelters for those affected and collaborating in the restoration of damaged areas.
Valencia Food Bank
The Mestalla stadium, Valencia CF’s home ground, has become a collection center. Currently, volunteers from the Valencia Food Bank are receiving donations of food and basic necessities at the entrance to the stadium. From outside Valencia, financial donations can be made on their website.
Caritas
Caritas has launched an initiative to channel aid to its headquarters in Valencia and Albacete, working in coordination with the municipal authorities of Valencia. Those interested in collaborating can make transfers to the accounts designated for the “EMERGENCIA DANA VALENCIA” at Caixa Popular and Caixabank.

Donations through banks
Several banks have set up platforms to collect donations for the emergency, publicized through their websites and social networks.
Collection of shovels, blankets and essential goods
Different entities have organized collections of food, medicines, hygiene products… At the moment no clothes are needed. These are the collection points.

Convoys of volunteers: How to volunteer in Valencia?
The entity Associació per a la Participació Política (APPCAT) is organizing a convoy of volunteers to come to Valencia to help. At all times, the convoy will be coordinated with the local authorities of Horta Sud to carry out the relief work.

Help to animal and pet shelters

Som València, the solidarity concerts for DANA
In a few days, the Som València initiative, a spontaneous project organized by the Barcelona-based record label Hidden Records to support those affected by the storm, has brought together more than 200 artists who will perform solidarity concerts throughout the country to raise funds.
