Now that the holidays are over we are all looking at the work calendar for 2025 to see what holidays and long weekends we can chain to celebrate a getaway in conditions.
The Barcelona City Council has published the work calendar for the year 2025, and this year, as the holidays fall, it is possible to organize to have almost 50 days off chaining bridges and vacations.
Therefore, we leave you here not only the working calendar with all the holidays, but our particular proposal to organize them in the best way you can to enjoy an almost infinite vacation.
What are the best holidays to take a long weekend in 2025?
In 2025 there are up to six holidays that allow you to easily set up a long weekend. We explain what they are:
January
This year, January 1st falls on Wednesday and Epiphany, the 6th, on Monday, so we can have 10 days of vacation in a row, spending only 4 working days. Less than half!
April
After two months without a single day off, Easter arrives. The holidays are April 18 (Good Friday) and April 21 (Easter Monday). Both fall on working days, so, without much effort, we will have a very long 4-day long weekend, so we recommend not to take even one day of vacation and save them for later.
May
It is well known that on Labor Day it is best not to work. This year it is perfect because May 1st falls on Thursday, so with only one day of vacation we will have four days off to go wherever you want.
June
June 9 is Easter Monday in Granada and falls on a Monday. That’s all we have to say. If you want, add a day and you will have, one month after May, another 4-day long weekend.
But the best comes at the end, June 24 is San Juan and falls on Tuesday, so taking the 23rd off, we will have, once again, four magnificent days of bridge.
August
August 15 (La Asunción) falls on a Friday, allowing for a long weekend from Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17.
September
September is the big holiday in Barcelona, as if Catalonia wanted to mitigate the back to school. September 11 is the Diada and falls on a Thursday, so taking the 12th, we will have four days of holidays.
Shortly after,on the 24th, is La Mercè, which falls on Wednesday. With two days we will have a 5-day macro-holiday to celebrate the festa major as God intended and without work worries.
December
Christmas 2025 can be one of the longest if we have organized well during the year (and we have heeded these tips we give you here).
First of all, La Inmaculada, December 8, which falls on a Monday, so here we already have a long weekend.
Finally, December 25 and 26 fall on Thursday and Friday. With just three days of vacation just before, we will have a 9-day Christmas, and we will still have several days left over to distribute throughout the year!
Work calendar with all the holidays in 2025
With the above proposal you can, taking just 12 days of vacation and taking all the bridges, add up to 50 days of vacation, so that you still have 9 days left over to enjoy on your own.
This is our proposal, but so you don’t miss a single one in the city, we leave you the list of all the holidays of 2025 in Barcelona.
