An Erasmus… the Catalan way. Or jokingly put: a “senecatalan” program or an “Erasme…de Janer” scholarship. The Departament de Recerca i Univesitats has opened a line of grants and mobility scholarships for students who want to do research on topics related to Catalonia in universities in the Catalan Countries.
This is the Joan Fuster Grant, which has 100,000 euros to provide grants of 500 euros per month for a maximum of six months to students doing research in centers in Catalonia, the Valencian Country, the Balearic Islands, Andorra, Catalunya Nord or l’Alguer, on the Italian island of Sardenya.
The project, launched in collaboration with the Xarxa Vives d’Universitats, is aimed at students doing a master’s degree final project or a doctoral thesis to investigate “social, natural or humanistic phenomena that affect Catalan-speaking territories, and who want to complement the project in a university of the Xarxa Vives d’Universitats”.
The objective of the grant is to contribute to the creation of stronger networks between academic institutions in the Catalan-speaking territories. To be able to do so, the displacement has to be more than 50 km, have an exclusive dedication to research and take place in the academic years 2024/25 or 2025/26. The grants can be applied for until March 31.
