The new Mooby Gran Sarrià Club opens its doors to the public this Thursday, May 21, in Barcelona, following a complete renovation of its facilities. The project transforms the former complex into a boutique cinema, a model that seeks to offer a modern and refined environment for moviegoers without straying from competitive pricing.
The initiative aims to attract an adult audience seeking a more relaxed leisure experience, combining the comfort of the facilities with a diverse lineup. The space retains its original eight-screen layout, though its interior has been completely redesigned to prioritize comfort and technical quality in screenings.
Greater comfort and technology in smaller theaters
The renovation has altered the complex’s interior layout, opting for more intimate auditoriums ranging from 30 to 80 seats. All auditoriums now feature tiered seating and a significant increase in the distance between rows.
The venue’s new seats are motorized and reclining, allowing viewers to lie back almost completely, and each features its own individual tray. On the technical side, the venue has upgraded its systems to ensure high-quality images and powerful sound.
One of the venue’s main new features is the addition of a première lounge. In this area, patrons can purchase snacks, wines, and more elaborate culinary options than traditional offerings, which are available alongside the usual popcorn. However, the service does not include waitstaff attending to patrons at their seats.
Meanwhile, the film lineup will be divided equally between dubbed screenings and films in their original language. The regular programming will be periodically complemented by special screenings focused on opera, ballet, and cinema classics.
Admission to the venue varies by day of the week. Tickets for screenings scheduled Monday through Thursday cost 11 euros, while the price for Fridays, weekends, and holidays is 13 euros.
