Summer nights in Barcelona are synonymous with outdoor cinema, and few are more mythical than Sala Montjuïc, the outdoor cinema that has been offering films in an idyllic setting to the locals for many years. This year, however, the pit of the Castell de Montjuïc is under construction, so Sala Montjuïc has had to move to an even better place, les Tres Xemeneies de Sant Adrià.
From June 27 to August 6, this space in Sant Adrià, now living a second youth, will be transformed into a cinema under the stars with a giant screen facing the sea, with live music and gastronomy for all tastes. In essence, the spirit of Sala Montjuïc moved in front of the sea.
18 sessions in front of the sea: Blade Runner, All About My Mother, Old Boy, The Apartment…
This year’s program includes 18 films selected from among recent blockbusters, classics and cult gems. All will be screened in original version with subtitles, and as is tradition, each night will start with a live concert by emerging or established local artists. In addition, as always, there will be a carefully selected gastronomic offer.
Among the most outstanding titles are Blade Runner, All About My Mother, Old Boy, The Apartment, Bitelchus Bitelchus or Forrest Gump, as well as novelties such as Emilia Perez, Wicked or the awaited surprise film on August 6. The Nits Grec, in collaboration with the Grec Festival, will also have its place in three special sessions.
