This Saturday, July 12, the Trinitat Vella neighborhood will once again dress in colors, pride and vindication with a new edition of the Trini Pride, which this year celebrates its fifth anniversary under the slogan “Collective fire, burning pride”. A community and festive day that transforms this corner of northern Barcelona in the epicenter of a peripheral, combative and deeply neighborhood pride.
And this year it does it with a special claim. One of the most special moments of the day will be the opening speech by director J.A. Bayona, born in Trinitat Vella in 1975 and recognized worldwide for films such as The Impossible, A Monster Comes to See Me and The Snow Society. At 7 p.m., Bayona will symbolically return to his neighborhood to kick off this edition with a speech that promises emotion and pride.
A year after the attacks on several LGTBIQ+ flags hung on neighborhood balconies, the neighbors return the fire in the form of resistance, culture and celebration: the fire that once tried to intimidate, now burns to unite us and transform rage into collective strength.
Arab cabaret and culture without borders

Trini Pride will also host the powerful Bērytī Cabaret, a show that celebrates queer and Arab identities from a brave, artistic and uncompromising gaze. Performing will be Diva, one of Beirut’s first modern drag queens, and Cindy, with a set of electro-Arabic music that will rock the square.
There will also be batucadas, organizations, a parade through the neighborhood and, of course, the spectacular Trini Drag Race, where neighbors will be able to transform themselves into drag for a day and compete for the crown of Queen of Pride 2025.
Presented by La Waka, an artist from Trinitat Vella with international projection, the Pride will also feature performances by La Jenny DJ, Monna Sequeda, Miss Danylicious, Toi Boi and Drag Nervio. All with an unmistakably local, diverse and combative stamp.
From the Llosa del Metro in Trinitat Vella, the event will also be a meeting point for more than a dozen neighborhood groups and LGTBIQ+ organizations, with activities open to all ages and the direct involvement of the neighborhood.
This year’s poster, the work of illustrator Cynthia Veneno, reflects that shared fire that connects and cares for us: a call to resist from pride, anti-racism, anti-fascism and collectivity.
