Four hours by car separate the center of Barcelona from an iconic and floating stage: the International Festival of Cultures Pirineos Sur, which celebrates its XXXIII edition from July 9 to 26 in Lanuza. This year, it comes with first confirmations as impressive as its natural environment: Rufus Wainwright, José González, Suede, Nacho Vegas, Bomba Estéreo, La M.O.D.A., Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, Dani Fernández, Hens, Valeria Castro, Carlos Ares, La Fúmiga and ETS (more to be announced soon). Tickets have just gone on sale.
There is something magical about this place, the Natural Auditorium of Lanuza a place where artists such as Kraftwerk, Nathy Peluso, Ben Harper, Luz Casal or Ludovico Einaudi have performed since the foundation of the festival in 1990. And that this 2026 will fill this swamp with Britpop, singer-songwriters and tropical rhythms.

This way of conceiving a festival, in all its splendor and taking into account all the arts, has one goal: to serve as a meeting point for different cultures from around the world. A meeting point that rests in the Tena Valley, between the villages of Sallent de Gállego and Lanuza. And it is here where the magic happens. It is an image out of a fairy tale. The waters of the reservoir reflect the mountain of Peña Foratata while artists of all kinds play on the stage. The concerts start at sunset, to enjoy the best of the backdrops: a bucolic sunset.
The rest of the shows are still to be confirmed, but we already have information about the first artists of the festival’s line-up. And everything is coming:
- July 9 – Rufus Wainwright + Jose Gonzalez.
- July 10 – Suede + Nacho Vegas
- July 12 – Bomba Estéreo + Guest Artist
- July 16th – La M.O.D.A + Leeches of Guadiana
- July 18th – Dani Fernández + Hens
- July 23rd – Valeria Castro + Carlos Ares
- July 26th – La Fúmiga + ETS
Another great stage: Sallent de Gállego and the Tena Valley.
For those who want to go a step further and take advantage of the benefits that the Pyrenees have to offer, between Lanuza and Sallent de Gállego there is a trail that connects them, perfect for a more active tourism. The landscape surrounding both locations is pure privilege and activity, with the possibility of kayaking, zip-lining…
The same reservoir of the Tena Valley that serves as a mirror behind the main stage of the International Festival of Cultures Pirineos Sur The same reservoir of the Tena valley that serves as a mirror behind the main stage of the Pirineos Sur International Festival of Cultures, keeps part of the village under its water. The other part was recovered by the residents of Lanuza when, years after the construction of the reservoir, they realized that they could recover part of the houses that had not been touched by the water. A tremendous story of resilience.
