A four-hour drive separates downtown Barcelona from an iconic, floating stage: that of the Pirineos Sur International Festival of Cultures, which celebrates its 33rd edition from July 9 to 26 in Lanuza. This year, it promises a vibrant, Caribbean-inspired lineup, with new confirmations including Los Planetas, Christina Rosenvinge, Judeline, Samuraï, and the Aragonese artists Ester Vallejo and Elem. Tickets are now available.
These new additions join a lineup as impressive as its natural setting: Rubén Blades (accompanied by a large band) and Melanie Santiler, Rufus Wainwright, José González, Suede, Nacho Vegas, Bomba Estéreo, La M.O.D.A., Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, Dani Fernández, Hens, Valeria Castro, Carlos Ares, La Fúmiga, and ETS (more to be announced soon).
There is something magical about this place, the Lanuza Natural Auditorium, a venue that has hosted, since the festival’s founding in 1990, artists of the caliber of Kraftwerk, Nathy Peluso, Ben Harper, Luz Casal, and Ludovico Einaudi. And in 2026, it will fill this reservoir with Britpop, singer-songwriters, and tropical rhythms.

Pirineos Sur 2026 Festival Lineup

This approach to a festival—in all its splendor and embracing all the arts—has one goal: to serve as a meeting point for different cultures from around the world. A meeting point nestled in the Tena Valley, between the villages of Sallent de Gállego and Lanuza. And this is where the magic happens. It’s a scene straight out of a fairy tale. The waters of the reservoir reflect the Peña Foratata mountain while artists of all kinds perform on stage. The concerts begin at dusk, so you can enjoy the best opening act: a bucolic sunset.
While the rest of the lineup is still to be confirmed, we already have information on the first artists on the festival’s bill. And there’s something for everyone:
- July 26 – La Fúmiga + ETS
- July 9 – Rufus Wainwright + José González
- July 10 – Suede + Nacho Vegas
- July 11 – Los Planetas + Christina Rosenvinge
- July 12 – Bomba Estéreo + Guest Artist
- July 16 – La M.O.D.A. + Sanguijuelas del Guadiana
- July 17 – Judeline + Samuraï + Elem
- July 18 – Dani Fernández + Hens
- July 19 – Rubén Blades (with the Roberto Delgado Big Band) + Melanie Santiler
- July 23 – Valeria Castro + Carlos Ares + Ester Vallejo
Another great venue: Sallent de Gállego and the Tena Valley

For those who want to take it a step further and enjoy all the wonders the Pyrenees have to offer, there’s a trail connecting Lanuza and Sallent de Gállego —perfect for more active tourism. The landscape surrounding both locations is a true privilege and a hub of activity, with opportunities for kayaking, zip-lining…
The same reservoir in the Tena Valley that serves as a mirror behind the main stage of the Pirineos Sur International Festival of Cultures keeps part of the village submerged beneath its waters. The other part was reclaimed by the residents of Lanuza when, years after the reservoir’s construction, they realized they could recover some of the homes that had not been touched by the water. A remarkable story of resilience.
