Rosalía will choose the music for the Piromusical of La Mercè 2024

Rosalía, the most popular Catalan artist in the world (and probably in history), will provide the soundtrack to the Piromusical that traditionally closes the Festa Major of La Mercè. So although she will not be part of the concert line-up of the festival, the Barcelona artist will be very present at the city’s main festival.

This was announced by the city council, which explained that the great international artist, born in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, will choose especially for the people of Barcelona the list of songs that will be played during the Piromusical de la Mercè 2024.

Thus, the Piromusical, which will be held on September 24 at 10 p.m. on Avinguda de Maria Cristina will be an author’s party with songs chosen by the author of Motomami.

It is not yet known which songs the singer will choose or in which direction her musical choices for the party will go.

As every year,the party will feature Pirotécnica Igual, a Barcelona-based company with more than 120 years of experience that has organized great pyrotechnic effects in celebrations around the world, including the ceremonies of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games, Athens 2004 or London 2012.

Last year the Pirumusical celebrated thirty years of Sónar with a musical selection chosen by the programmers of the festival. This year, however, it will be one of the most international Catalan artists who will be in charge of selecting the best music for one of the last acts of the Festival of Barcelona.
