The Barcelona-Sitges International Vintage Car Rallycelebrates its 68th edition with more than 100 historic vehicles taking part. This year’s event has a special attraction, as the organizers have added it to the Gaudí Year celebrations.
Fans who want to see these collector’s items up close will have the opportunity to do so this Saturday. The vehicles will be parked in front of the L’Illa Diagonal shopping center from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those who are unable to attend can view the complete list and photographs of each model on the competition’s official website.
Itinerary and official start
On Sunday, the main event will begin with a mass gathering in Plaça de Sant Jaume. The parade will officially start at 10:30 a.m. and will pass through iconic locations in the Catalan capital, such as Via Laietana, Passeig de Colom, and Avinguda del Paral·lel.
To ensure that the route runs smoothly, the local police will coordinate the passage of the procession. Officers will temporarily hold traffic at intersections and make any necessary diversions to ensure the safety of participants and other drivers.
Tour of the metropolitan area
The route will continue towards the Sants-Montjuïc neighborhood at around 11:00 a.m. The convoy will travel through Plaza de Espanya and Gran Via before leaving the municipality of Barcelona. The motorcade will then pass through the main streets of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Cornellà.
Finally, the classic cars and motorcycles will join the C-245 highway. From this point, drivers will follow the marked route until they reach the finish line in Sitges, where this parade of automotive heritage will conclude.
