Finally, the most awaited news by the fans of FC Barcelona has happened: FC Barcelona returns to the Spotify Camp Nou for the Joan Gamper Trophy. It will be on Sunday, August 10 in front of 60,000 people.
With this long-awaited reopening, Hansi Flick’s team returns to its home ground after two seasons at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Although the opponent for the first trophy of the season is not yet officially known, all indications are that it will be Italian side Como 1907, currently playing in Serie A and coached by ex-Barça player Cesc Fàbregas.
Barça has shared the good news through a publication entitled “Tornem a casa” that has been distributed on their social networks. This video shows all the epic of the culer team, with music that mixes tradition and modernity, several winks to their fans and even the appearance of a Catalan legend: the timbaler of the Bruc.
This video culminates the action that the blaugrana club started a few days ago, with mysterious vehicles emitting the music of the spot and that were a prelude to something big that was going to happen. Images of club legends such as Ronaldinho, Cruyff, Messi and Deco have also been projected around the city along with the message “Barça is my home”.
It is worth mentioning, however, that this reopening is partial: work on the Spotify Camp Nou is still underway and on August 10 it will only be able to accommodate 60,000 fans out of the 105,000 that the stadium will be able to hold when it is finished. There is still a lot to be done, such as the third tier, the double VIP ring, the roof (planned for a year from now), some interior spaces and the outdoor area that will surround the stadium.
Even so, FC Barcelona assures that they will work to adapt this reduced version of the stadium to the culers fans, facilitating access and adapting the services to make the experience comfortable for everyone.
What is clear is that this return will be a party, where there will be no shortage of extra activities to the match as well as the appearance of CAT, the mascot that the club presented for the 125th anniversary of the entity in December 2024 and that has already won the affection of all the fans.
