Sónar Barcelona 2025 reveals its first artists: Nathy Peluso, Plastikman…

It’s not even 2025 or, to put it another way, only five months have passed since the last Sónar, but we fans are already looking forward to it and as the festival knows it, it has just published the first 60 names that will shine in its lineup.

From June 12 to 15, 2025 Sónar Barcelona will be underway loaded with heavyweight names in electronic and experimental music.

Essential live shows and unique DJ sets: the main new features of the line-up

Among the most anticipated performances are the new live shows by renowned artists such as Nathy Peluso, who will present her new album in Spain, Plastikman, Arca, Overmono and Polo & Pan. In addition, sessions by iconic figures such as Peggy Gou, Four Tet, Honey Dijon, Vintage Culture, Mochakk, Barry Can’t Swim, Helena Hauff and local Andres Campo promise to conquer the dancefloors of Sónar by Night.

Audiovisual shows and exceptional collaborations

The visual dimension of the festival will take center stage with innovative shows from artists like Eric Prydz, BICEP, Max Cooper, Daito Manabe and Cora Novoa, while four-handed DJ sets like Skrillex b2b Blawan and Armin van Buuren b2b Indira Paganotto will raise the bar for creative collaborations.

As for new shows, there will be unique proposals such as Rone with the (LA)HORDE collective and the Ballet National de Marseille, the tandem Raül Refree + Niño de Elche, or the innovative work of Dania & Mau Morgó.

Avant-garde artists and club culture.

The program is also committed to the avant-garde with names like Six Sex, Yerai Cortés, Teto Preto, Tarta Relena, Lord Spikeheart, Maria Arnal, MCR-T, Branko and Samantha Hudson, along with a representation of international club culture led by artists like DJ Heartstring, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Interplanetary Criminal, Juliana Huxtable and Kebra.

Creative collaborations and unique stages

Among the big news, iconic British club Printworks London will once again take control of the SonarLab stage, while an unprecedented collaboration between Actress and Suzanne Ciani curated alongside London’ s Barbican Centre promises to be one of the highlights of the festival. In addition, the TIMES cooperative project will return with unique multidisciplinary shows alongside other leading European festivals.

The program will also include a special concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana on June 12, with a repertoire combining works by the iconic Steve Reich with compositions by the multi-award-winning Raquel García-Tomás.

Sónar+D: technology and creativity for a future in transformation.

Sónar+D 2025 will reflect on the role of technology in society and its influence on art and entertainment. Among the highlights will be +RAIN, a film festival generated with artificial intelligence co-produced with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

In addition, the Project Area, the festival’s interactive space dedicated to advanced technology, innovative design and cutting-edge research, will return. The Open Call to submit projects is already active, and interested parties can send their proposals until December 22, 2024.

Sónar Week: Barcelona as the world capital of music, innovation and creativity.

Sónar Week will once again welcome everyone, turning Barcelona into the world capital of music, innovation and creativity for the whole week.

In addition to the concerts and DJ sets of Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night and the activities of Sónar+D, OFFSónar will once again bring together the most influential labels and parties of the world’s electronic music scene in Poble Espanyol. For 2025, two opening dates have already been announced -Tuesday June 10 and Wednesday June 11- with Australians RÜFÜS DU SOL (both sold out) and the ‘X‘ party by Swiss band Adriatique -Thursday June 12-, who repeat after their great success in the last edition. The rest of the parties will be announced in the coming weeks.

SonarPass and SonarPass+D passes, at special prices until Sunday

In 2025, as every year, Sónar by Day and Sónar+D will be held at Fira Montjuïc and Sónar by Night at Fira Gran Via.

SonarPass and SonarPass+D passes are on sale at the festival’s official website and will go up in price this Sunday, November 24 at 23:59 (CET).
