A Lleida winery produces two of the best vermouths in the world in 2024, according to the latest research World Vermotuh Awards 2024. This is Marnuthem, a project born in Bell-lloc d’Urgell, a village in the Pla d’Urgell region, and which in 2024 won first prize in the Semi-dry and Semi-sweet categories with white and rosé proposals, respectively.
Vermouth Rosé 2024 and Vermouth 2023 are the two varieties of the brand awarded with this recognition. Both are sold online at marnuthem website at a price of 29.90 euros for the 75 cl. bottle.
Marc Cuenca and Núria Sánchez form the team behind this brand, which is characterized by “respecting the wine” and using only natural botanicals in its production.
According to the jury, the semi-dry variety incorporates notes of “fresh citrus, creamy hints of tropical fruits, with a touch of cinnamon and cloves. The semi-sweet is highlighted by notes of “light flowers and berries, with hints of vanilla and fresh, acidic blueberries”.
The World Vermotuh Awards are part of the World Drinks Awards, a competition that annually recognizes the best alcoholic beverages in the world.
