There’s nothing more Christmassy than curling up on the couch and revisiting Pixar films while eating that nougat that’s still on the table… This Christmas, we can also enter and live in those same films in the immersive Pixar World experience. The exhibition, which has conquered the hearts of more than 250,000 visitors, will say goodbye to our country after the holidays: you can get tickets for the last sessions here.
From iconic scenes from films like UP, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo, to more recent ones like Luca, Elementary or Inside Out 2,Pixar World offers an immersive, multi-sensory experience that transports visitors directly into the heart of their favorite films.
This experience, curated by Disney Pixar Animation Studios, brings more than one surprise to Barcelona. For the first time, new figures have been incorporated, such as Anxiety from Inside Out 2, Emile from Ratatouille and Dug and Russell from UP. To go a step further in the immersion in Pixar scenarios, everything smells according to the environment of each scene depending on the room you are in.
For example, the room in Finding Nemo smells like the ocean, or the outdoor area in UP smells like freshly cut grass, while Flo’s V8 cafe (in the automotive world of Cars) has a new car scent. Can you imagine?
Thirteen movie sets
Pixar World is located in Westfield La Maquinista and brings with it one of the most fun surprises for fans: a viral challenge that has taken networks by storm. Visitors will be able to join the search for the mythical Pixar ball, hidden in various stages of the exhibition. This iconic yellow ball with a red star, which has appeared in films such as UP and Finding Nemo, is one of Pixar’s most beloved easter eggs (and now, it’s part of this immersive experience).
The exhibition features thirteen sets that recreate some of Pixar‘s most famous films, from classics like Monsters, S.A., to more recent ones like Luca and Elemental. It is, in short, a space-time journey to those moments we remember from each of the following films:
The experience kicks off with a big house: the facade of UP’ s flirtatious home that (balloons aloft) opens its doors to enter Carl’s living room. All the details of the film are here, from the family photos to the furniture to the books.
In one of the most Instagrammable rooms (and the one that caused the most furor in Madrid), we will immerse ourselves in the Toy Story universe and rediscover the illusion of our childhood as we move through Andy’s room, surrounded by our favorite toys that come to life when we are not looking. That’s right: at toy size. Here we will be very petit.
We will visit Flo’s V8 café with Lightning McQueen from Cars. Also, on the set of Inside Out, we will be able to explore the fascinating world of emotions in Riley’s mind. Or the kitchen of Gusteau’s restaurant from Ratatouille, where we can experience on a rodent scale, the thrill of cooking in Paris with Remy.
Not forgetting the scenarios that will take us to the village of Portorosso with Luca, Alberto and Giulia, to the subway of Elemental, to the ocean of Finding Nemo or to the Mexico of Coco, full of color, flowers? There is also a nod to Monsters, S.A., with the Monsteropolis scare factory.
Among all the trends that Pixar World has generated in networks, there is one that especially amuses us. We take this opportunity to challenge all future visitors to the immersive experience: will you be able to find all the Pixar balls in the exhibition?
