Fashion and home goods chain TK Maxx has announced its official entry into the domestic market, with its first opening in Barcelona scheduled for spring 2026.
The outlet, which will mark the start of the TJX Companies group’s expansion strategy in the country, will be located in Barcelona’s Diagonal Mar shopping center.
The British brand will occupy one of the largest stores in the shopping complex, with a surface area of more than 2,100 square meters.
The TK Maxx model: branded clothing at discounted prices

In this space it will deploy its business model based on offering major brands at deep discounts, in categories such as women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, footwear, handbags, beauty and household items.
TK Maxx’s value proposition focuses on marketing “out-of-season” branded products with discounts that can reach 60% off the recommended price, a continuous stock rotation, and constant novelties. Among the brands available, which can be consulted on its website, are Gucci, Fendi, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Hunter, Veja, or Kenzo, among others.
Deborah Dolce, the group’s marketing director, has confirmed that the Barcelona store will be the first opening of an expansion plan in the Spanish market.
Although TK Maxx was founded in the UK in 1994, it is owned by US retailer TJ Maxx. The company had to adopt the acronym “TK” for its European and Australian division in order to avoid commercial conflicts in the UK with the existing discount chain T. J. Hughes.
Today, the firm has a network of 740 stores and has extended its presence to countries such as Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland and Australia, also under the Homesense brand name.
