This year, La Mercè 2024 falls on a strange date. The 24th, the saint’s day, is Tuesday, so the City Council has organized all the festive activities on the previous weekend.
And so that they can be celebrated in comfort,the public transport network in the Barcelona area has extended its service between September 20 and 24. The operators TMB, FGC, TRAM, Rodalies de Catalunya and Nitbus will reinforce their services to adapt to the increased demand during these festivities, so we tell you the changes that will be in each of the services.
It is recommended to use public transport to move around the city during the holidays.
Metro i Bus deTMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona):
- The metro will operate without interruption on the nights of September 20, 21 and 23, and until midnight on September 22.
- The number of trains on all conventional lines has been increased and bus line 150 has been reinforced for activities in Montjuïc.

The number of customer service, cleaning and security personnel at stations near the events was increased.
FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya):**
- Continuous night service on urban lines on the nights of the 20th, 21st and 23rd.
- Lines L6, L7 and L12 will offer trains every 20 minutes, extending some services to Les Planes.
- Additional reinforcements on lines S1 and S2 on the 21st, 22nd and 24th.
- Uninterrupted service on line L8 with reinforcements during the Piromusical on the 24th.
TRAM:
- Continuous service on lines T2, T3, T4 and T5 from September 21 to September 24.
- Adjusted frequencies between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to facilitate night transit.
Rodalies de Catalunya:
- Festive service on the 24th with working frequencies on regional trains and reinforcement on lines R16 and R17.
Nitbus:
- Increase in the number of vehicles to avoid night crowds.
