The clothes of the stars are not always easy to touch, and who has not dreamed of wearing the same clothes worn by artists like Rosalía or Bad Gyal. Well, now you can because Trent, the clothing store that rents luxury clothing from emerging brands and worn by celebrities like the Catalan singers, has just opened in Barcelona.
Located at number 5 Lluís el Piadós street, the store is a 470 m² space designed as if it were a museum archive, where the garments are presented as if they were works of art. The design is by the Police studio, created by Barcelona architects Román Sarrió and Pablo Huete. The result is a place to look, touch, try and experiment.
How does the rental of luxury garments work?
The founders, Alejandro Assens and Laia Cusco, explain that the rental of branded garments is a consumer model that is already quite popular in places like the United Kingdom, but is still new here.
Most garments can be rented for 4 to 8 days. With a few exceptions (such as Coperni pieces), everything is designed so that you can get a designer look without breaking the bank. In addition, if you fall in love with a garment, you can also buy it.
What can you find at Trent?
You name it. From T-shirts, corsets and jackets to party dresses, pants and accessories. Emerging brands from around the world, local designers and also big names like Blumarine or Coperni coexist in a constantly changing catalog.
The idea is to offer unique garments that cannot be found anywhere else in the city and that have not been copied by fast fashion, explain the creators. The idea is that this model democratizes access to luxury fashion and bets on a more circular and sustainable consumption.
What happens if your clothes get damaged? Minor damages (such as broken buttons or failed zippers) are included in the rental price, and there is also an in-store styling service. In addition, loyal customers can opt for a monthly subscription system with access to several garments per month.
