Flying over the Pyrenees in a hot air balloon. Willy Fog’s dream will become possible for a few on February 8, when the ski and mountain resort of Vall de Núria, managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), will offer a unique experience: flying over the resort and its surroundings in a hot air balloon.
The activity is part of the organization of a charity dinner to be held on the same day to raise funds for people affected by the DANA.
The balloon flights, which will last approximately two hours, will take place on Saturday morning, and participants will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Núria, the Puigmal, the Pic de l’Àliga and other emblematic peaks of the Catalan Pyrenees. The experience includes a picnic bag, a toast with champagne, a flight certificate and a photographic report of the flight.
In the evening, the restaurant El Racó de la Vall will host the charity dinner with a tasting menu prepared with local and seasonal products prepared by the Hotel Vall de Núria, the Ripollès School of Hotel Management and the Abat Oliba Institute in collaboration with several local entities[1].
The experience, however, will not be cheap: 350€ per person, which will serve to cover the costs of the experience and contribute to the charitable cause, the price, it seems, of a quite unique experience. Those interested can buy tickets on the website of the organizing company.
