The Westfield Glòries and Westfield La Maquinista shopping centers are preparing to host the Westfield Reloved Market, an initiative dedicated to sustainable fashion that will take place over four days: May 16, 17, 22, and 23. The event aims to promote the reuse of clothing by allowing the public to browse and purchase clothing, footwear, and accessories belonging to prominent local influencers.
The event will kick off on the weekend of May 16 and 17 at Westfield Glòries, featuring Gat Noir, Gigi Vives, and Almu Carrión. Then, on May 22 and 23, the event will move to Westfield La Maquinista, featuring Patri Goe, Mery Rodríguez, and Andy Waak. During these days, the designers will not only sell their items but will also personally advise attendees in designated areas equipped with fitting rooms.
Fashion with a local touch and environmental awareness
Beyond the sale of secondhand clothing from top brands and vintage pieces, the market will feature a collaboration with artist Shoné. Specializing in sustainability, the local creator will offer a collection of handmade pieces at Glòries crafted from denim previously donated by the mall’s own customers.
Technology will also play a leading role in waste management through Candam Tech. RecySmart smart bins will be installed, whichuse sound to identify containers in real time. Those who deposit cans and plastic bottles will be entered into a daily drawing for €100 gift cards.
The event will reward citizen participation with various benefits.The first 250 attendees will receive a cloth bag containing discounts and tickets for immersive experiences such as Antarctica, Titanic, and Coliseo, located in the Cúpula space.
Additionally, the shopping centers’ central plaza will feature displays showcasing various style proposals from brands such as Desigual, Mango, and Brighty & Co. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite outfit using a QR code; five complete outfits valued at 150 euros each will be raffled off among participants, with the winners announced on Monday, May 18, via social media.
