From October 7, 2025,the R3 line of Rodalies de Catalunya will experience a historic interruption due to track laying works between Parets del Vallès and La Garriga. This disruption will affect thousands of users who must travel to or from Barcelona.
To mitigate the impact, Renfe has implemented an alternative road service with a fleet of 107 buses that will make up to 639 daily expeditions.
Bus departure and arrival points
Buses will connect the affected stations with Barcelona, with Fabra i Puig station as the hub, which has access to metro line 1 (L1) and Rodalies line 4 (R4). From Fabra i Puig, users will be able to take buses to the following stations:
- Montcada Bifurcació
- La Garriga
- Centelles
- Mollet Santa Rosa
In addition, intermediate stops will be established in towns such as Parets del Vallès and Granollers-Canovelles to facilitate access to users in these areas.
Timetables and frequencies
Buses will operate with a frequency of 30 minutes throughout the day, with reinforcements at rush hour to adapt to demand. The service will be available from early morning until midnight, ensuring connectivity throughout the day. All the information about the shuttle buses can be consulted on the rodalies website.
In addition, you can also consult the new schedules of Rodalies Line R3, which since October 7 only cover the section between La Garriga and Puigcerdà-La Torre de Querol .
Renfe has distributed information leaflets at the affected stations and trains so that users are aware of the service modification and can plan their journeys in advance. In addition, a team of 70 people has been deployed at stations to assist travelers and ensure a smooth transition to the new transport system.
