A paradox is a phenomenon that, on the surface, seems illogical and incoherent but—as hard as it may be to believe—has an explanation. And we humans, always eager for challenges, love to experience it. Barcelona is home to a museum entirely dedicated to this concept: the Paradox Museum, located right in the heart of the city, in Plaza Urquinaona.
This place is perfect for a get-together with friends, a fun-filled family outing, or even an unforgettableteam-building event (we’ll give you more details below if you’re thinking of organizing one).
We’ll tell you a little more about the museum in a moment, but check out what they’ve got planned for the spookiest month of the year.

Paradox Museum celebrates Castaween with a treasure hunt

In Catalonia, we cherish our traditions, but we gladly embrace those that come from elsewhere. That’s why we’ve created what we call Castaween—the perfect blend of the traditional Castanyada and the Anglo-Saxon Halloween. And, as in previous years, in 2026 the Paradox Museum will also be joining in the celebration of this event. The museum will be decorated in theme and will offer a family activity, the “Castaween Mission.”
From October 1 to November 1, you can purchase a €3 add-on at the museum entrance. This extra will give you access to the game, which involves finding six characters typical of this time of year among the museum’s more than 70 illusions. Look for them, find them, and take home a gift from the museum shop.
“Mission Castaween” is an activity especially recommended for children; it contains zero scares and will sharpen their senses while they have fun with the museum’s paradoxes. In any case, there’s no age limit: the game is also open to all those curious adults eager to have a good time.
Playing with the Impossible

Atthe Paradox Museum, nothing is what it seems. In this museum—which also has locations in Paris and London—you’ll move from room to room to become the stars of70 paradoxes that play with space, perspective, and the laws of physics. At every turn, your senses—especially your sense of sight—will be deceiving you, taking you from surprise to roaring laughter in a matter of seconds.
For example, the Paradox Museum features the Well of Infinity, which will make us feel as though we’re flying through the abyss. Or the stunning Zero Gravity room, where we’ll float like astronauts. Not to mention the Paradox Tunnel, where something as simple as walking becomes a challenge.

It looks like magic, but it isn’t: everything at the Paradox Museum has a logical explanation, which makes the experience even more surprising. Young children will be blown away by all the exhibits—that much is clear—but adults will also feel like kids again thanks to all the excitement we’ll experience.
Plus, everything in this museum is interactive. This makes it the perfect spot to take the best selfies or fun videos that you can then share on TikTok or Instagram. For example, how about taking a photo with a friend where one of you is leaning against the floor and the other against the ceiling? Your followers will think it’s Photoshop, but it’s all real.

Can you figure out where the trick is?
As we’ve said, everything at the Paradox Museum has a rational explanation. This means that, beyond just having fun, the museum is designed to encourage us to try to uncover the secret behind each of these rooms. Some secrets are very simple, but others are quite intricate, and we’ll have to really rack our brains to figure out the “how.”
So, in addition to being a place for fun and great selfies, the Paradox Museum becomes a sort of ongoing logic puzzle, making it an excellent family activity that combines play with learning. If you go with your kids, you’ll be stimulating their minds without them even realizing it, amid colorful rooms and eye-catching effects.
An ideal spot for team-building events

While families will have a blast at the Paradox Museum, adults also have their place here. In fact, its unique features make it perfect for hosting corporate events or large group activities, such as a truly original team-building experience —a far cry from the typical activities associated with these kinds of gatherings.
Paradox Museum can host all kinds of team-building events and offers various packages tailored to your organization’s needs. These include:
