With the advent of telecommuting, we have become more efficient in many ways, but we have also become more distant from our colleagues. For this reason, the ‘team building’ concept is being reborn in Barcelona, since what technology separates us can be reunited by outdoor plans, adventures or perhaps a good dinner with a show. Here we tell you how to motivate your team and, above all, have a good time.
SENSAS Barcelona
SENSAS is a sensory experience (literally) that tests the five senses of its participants through immersive workshops and challenges. Located on Entença street, in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample, this space offers a two-hour tour where the senses become the only protagonists, with challenges ranging from identifying aromas in the dark to going through a room full of lasers.
An original activity to do in a group and, precisely, Team Building, because it invites you to explore skills while encouraging collaboration among those who propose it.
In addition, it has a solidarity component: each challenge overcome translates into donations for the local association AURA that supports people with functional diversity.
📍 Location: Carrer d’Entença, 91-93, Bajos 2 (Eixample)
💸 Tickets: from 22 €.
2. Kayak route with your companions
Connect with nature and move a little blood through the body is another of the plans most often chosen by the organizers of ‘team buildings’. But, perhaps, a kayak route through the coves of Girona or the Ebro delta is not so common.
We leave you here the best places to practice it and the companies that rent you the necessary material for the excursion.
Hidden Evidence
Teamwork is the main objective of the ‘team buildings’. Each person has his or her role, his or her skills, and creating a synergy between each one can be put into practice inside and outside of work. Investigating a murder, searching for a culprit and interviewing suspects hand in hand with your colleagues is an incredible opportunity to get to know your friends’ skills better.
‘Hidden Evidence’ is an immersive mystery game where La Casa de la Seda in Barcelona will become the scene of a crime and where players will play the role of private detectives who must solve the case.
📍La Casa de la Seda. Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt, 1. (Urquinaona)
💸Tickets from 24€.
4. Jungle Tag obstacle course
The adrenaline that comes from achieving goals, winning competitions or surpassing ourselves is the gasoline that the body needs every day.Jungle Tag is a labyrinth of obstacles between mats, ropes and tubes through which you will have to navigate. Each player receives an electronic bracelet in which he/she accumulates points and records the times for each obstacle he/she overcomes.
📍Sapakara Fun Parcs. Carrer del Silici, 9. (Cornellà de Llobregat).
💸Tickets from 13,50€.
5. Virtual Reality Experience
Aventurico Barcelona has turned conventional virtual reality into an exciting experience. They have developed two games at their place: Beat Saber, where you can demonstrate your musical skills while cutting blocks with laser swords like a real Jedi. And Among Us VR, the game you will already be familiar with if you spent a quarantine online looking for the impostor among your friends.
📍Aventurico Barcelona. Carrer de Roger de Flor, 89. (Arc de Triomf)
💸Tickets from 78€.
6. Neon Brush
There are team building proposals… And ‘team building’ proposals. Neon Brush would be in the second group and for many (and good) reasons. This painting workshop goes one step further and offers you and your colleagues an afternoon full of fun with fluorescent colors, neon lights, good music and drinks. A unique retro-futuristic atmosphere to bring out your inner Picasso.
📍Art Gallery and Multifunctional Space. Carrer Buenaventura Muñoz, 6, Bajo Izquierda (Arc de Triomf).
💸Tickets from 29€.
7. Beer pong with dinner (and party)
Sometimes you don’t need to get complicated to organize a good get-together for your colleagues. A few glasses and a ping-pong ball is enough. At the Soda Bus bar they organize Beer Pong competitions with dinner included. In addition, for the late-nighters (and if you organize the team building on a Thursday) you can party on the premises.
The tournament is organized in pairs, so if your work team is big, they will probably compete against each other, leaving their quarrels on the table tennis table and letting off steam. The drink is also included in the menu, as it is called beer for a reason.
📍Soda Bus 150. Carrer d’Aribau, 150 (Provença)
Tournament registration , dinner and party for one person: 15€.
8. Escape Room
Escape rooms are the first plan that comes to mind when organizing a team building, that’s why they proliferate more and more in Barcelona and it is difficult to find one with the three ‘B’: Good, Nice and Cheap. Casino Royale is one of the most successful games of Xcape Barcelona, one of the most experienced Scape Rooms in the city. In this escape, instead of investigating a crime as in Murder Mystery, you will be the criminal. The goal is clear: to get out of the casino vault, but once inside the plans are truncated and you run into the mafia owner of the place.
📍Xcape Barcelona. Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret, 258, Local (Guinardó)
💸Party for 2 people from Monday to Thursday 48€.
9. A trip to Monjuic
The Montjuic 360º is the first hiking route entirely in Barcelona that will make you and your coworkers leave the Wikihoc hiking application in the background. The Montjuïc 360 is a route designed and endorsed by Foment Excursionista de Barcelona and the Federació d’Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya (FEEC).
The route, registered with the code PR-C229, is a circular path of low difficulty with 11 km, 3 hours of travel and 400 meters of accumulated height difference that surrounds the mountain of Montjuic. The PR are short distance trails (between 10 and 15 km.) and are identified with the colors white and yellow. The PR-C229 starts at the Tres Xemeneies, in Poble Sec to immediately start climbing the mountain towards the Miramar viewpoint.
