The Rodalies station in Fabra i Puig resumed normal operations today, Thursday, October 8, early this morning. Although improvement and renovation work on the station continues , Renfe and Adif have reopened the station, and trains on the R4 line are once again stopping there.
This stop was removed from the regular Rodalies route due to the accident that occurred on September 22, when the suspended ceiling in the lobby collapsed onto three people. Following the investigation, Renfe states that the incident occurred as a result of the rain, the deteriorated condition of the ceiling, and the vibrations caused by the construction work Adif is carrying out at the facility.
Currently, only the R4 line is operating normally at this stop:
- Service on the R7 line has been completely suspended due to damage to the rail infrastructure caused by the extreme rainfall of recent weeks.
- The R12 has not been running on this section since October 7 as a result of flooding and landslides.
- The R3 line is also out of service due to track-doubling work (an alternative bus service is available outside the station).
