The Barcelona City Council has ordered this Thursday the preventive closure of all the parks of the city in view of the forecast of an episode of heavy rains.
As reported by the consistory in a statement, the measure is taken to ensure the safety of citizens and avoid possible incidents, such as falling branches or trees, as a result of the storm.
The City Council recommends citizens to avoid travel and transit wooded areas for the duration of the weather alert.
Classes are also suspended this Thursday in Barcelona.
