Protests by TMB bus service workers will continue throughout October. During the strike on September 22, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona staff met with the company to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement, but after negotiations broke down once again, the union coalition has called for seven days of partial service stoppages on October 8, 14, 15, 20, 22, 27, and 29.
During those dates , service will be reduced in three time periods: from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Minimum service levels, as typically found at , range from 20% to 40% of the total number of buses.
In addition, the workers warn that they are considering a date between October 5 and 9 to call for an additional full-day strike if no agreement is reached beforehand.
The TMB bus drivers’ team is demanding a reduction in the workweek to 35 hours, a change in their schedule, and a guarantee that their two days off will be consecutive.
