La Ballena Alegre Campground, located in Sant Pere Pescador (Girona), about 130 kilometers from Barcelona, has been named the best campground in Europe in 2026 by ACSI, the leading portal in the European campground sector.
Located on the Sant Martí d’Empúries road, right in the heart of the Costa Brava, this 24-hectare campground with over 1,100 sites is this year’s top pick in Europe.

In total, it has 809 caravan sites ranging from 95 to 120 square meters —most of which are marked out, flat, and grassy—and 317 rental accommodations, including bungalows and more premium chalets.
Each avenue has its own access, which facilitates movement within the grounds.
It has direct access to the Mediterranean Sea, though for those who prefer freshwater, there are outdoor pools on the grounds.
